The soundtrack

Twenty tracks, half of them locked when you start. Every shelf you finish opens another one, which makes the music a progress bar you listen to rather than look at.

How it unlocks

You do not start with all 20 tracks. Roughly half the soundtrack is locked, and finishing a shelf opens another song. There is a music player in the menu, so once a track is yours you can put it on whenever you like, and the score layers itself up and down in intensity as you work rather than looping one flat mix.

It is the quietest reward structure in the game and probably the most effective one: the shop gets fuller and the room gets richer at the same rate. See what counts as finished for the tiers that trigger it.

All 20 tracks

In the order the in-game music player lists them:

  1. Dust of Dawn
  2. Zerune Drift
  3. Astro
  4. Cultivate
  5. Distant Skies
  6. Enigma
  7. Further
  8. Niagara
  9. Serenity
  10. Above the Clouds
  1. Marble Falls
  2. Prismatic
  3. Stained Glass
  4. Starshine
  5. Underglow
  6. Violet Skies
  7. City Rain
  8. End Credits
  9. Into the Sun
  10. Nardo Grey

Where the music comes from

All twenty tracks are licensed from Ovani Sound, from its Ambient Music Packs volumes 4, 5, 6, 10 and 11, and are played back through the Ovani Music Manager plugin for Unreal Engine. Ovani publishes these packs under its own name, so there are no separate per-track composer credits to give.

The credit line, where a music credit is expected, is Music by Ovani Sound. No other attribution string is required.

For streamers and video creators

Techplay Co., Ltd. holds the licence, and it covers marketing and coverage as well as the game itself — trailers, streams, captured footage, websites and social video, including monetised video. You do not need to clear the music separately to make a video about Alchemess, and you do not need to mute it. The press kit has the same permission in writing along with the media to go with it.

What the licence does not do is make the tracks yours to reuse: it covers Alchemess footage, not lifting a song out of the game for an unrelated video. There is no separate soundtrack release to buy.

The rest of the sound

There is no voice acting and no dialogue in Alchemess, which is why the game needs no subtitles or captions — see accessibility for what that does and does not mean. Music and effects have separate volume sliders.
